Mathematics and number recognition
Mathematics is the abstract study of topics encompassing quantity, structure, space, change, and others; it has no generally accepted definition.
Mathematics develops from counting, calculation, measurement and the systematic study of the shapes and motions of physical objects.
Math concepts include:
- Number and number sense: Counting, Recognition (Reading of numbers), Representation of numbers, quantity, simple addition and subtraction
- Patterns, Sorting and Classifying (Algebra and Functions) Sorting Objects by Attribute; Comparing Objects (Shape, colour, size); Simple Patterns; Pictorial
- Measurement (Geometry): Lenght, Weight, Capacity of Objects; Time Concepts (Clock, Calenders, identification of time)
- Graphing (Statistics, Data Analysis and Probability): Gathering and analysing data
In this section we provide games to teach and improve some of these concepts but we have not provided puzzles here for advanced mathematicians. This is not because there are no products that will provide ideas/inspiration/challenge for these mathematicians but rather because of the diverse nature of the field.
